The King’s Centre and Corporate Social Responsibility. (CSR)

Updated: Sep 23, 2019

What is Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and how does it help our clients? In Today’s socially conscious society, CSR is a vital component for any organisation that wishes to make a positive impact on social, economic and environmental factors that benefit society at large.

When venue finders and agents are looking for a conferencing venue, an exhibition space or meeting spaces for their clients do they have this in mind? Are they looking for a place that will tick all the CSR boxes?

Not everybody knows this but, The King’s Centre is a not for profit organisation owned by a charity. All our profits go back into the community. We firmly believe that we meet all the CSR categories:

· Environmental; through or green policies and our effort to be a plastics free centre we have reduced our carbon footprint. With our solar panels we have saved nearly 54000KG of CO2. We limit the number of cars that can use our parking spaces, a bane for those who live close to us but, for those who come from out of town, a pleasant 10 minute walk along the canal tow path from the Oxford railway station. We help support the BBOWT (Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxford Wildlife Trust) in its efforts to keep our countryside clean.

· Volunteering; many members of our staff volunteer at the weekend in various charities.

· Ethical labour practices; we at the King’s centre value a person’s worth and our modern day work practices reflect this. We allow our employees greater work/life flexibility. We will only buy products for our centre that have been ethically sourced.

· Philanthropic; as already stated all profit made is ploughed back into local community projects. We support a mothers and toddlers group called Family Fun. We help Edge Housing Trust to give homeless people of Oxford not just accommodation but helping with a hand up in life not a hand out. Help is also given to Tyndale School, a Community school in east Oxford.

If you are looking for a place for a conference, an exhibition, or any other event and you want a place that truly believes in the need for Corporate Social Responsibility. Then look no further.
